There’s a particular pleasure in living with something made by hand. In our concrete collection, that individuality is part of the making: gilded paint settles into its own design, and the surface carries the small variations of handmade concrete.
You choose the shape and scent. Your candle will share the form shown in the photograph, with a design unique to the vessel we send you. That distinction is central to Stone & Flame.

Stone & Flame is a woman-owned, woman-made candle studio in the Hudson Valley. We hand-pour every candle with all-natural soy wax, bringing the same care to each collection.
Our concrete vessels are made by hand, with gilded paint mixed in to create an individual design. Found Ceramics gives a second life to vessels sourced in the Hudson Valley. Our 4 oz amber jars offer a smaller way to explore more than ten scents.
Each collection has its own character, with fragrance and the vessel considered together.

Our Found Ceramics collection begins in the thrift shops of the Hudson Valley. We select individual ceramic vessels and hand-pour each with all-natural soy wax, giving a found object a new purpose.
Each candle is an edition of one. The ceramic piece pictured in its listing is the piece you receive.

What are Stone & Flame candles made from?
Our original collection uses handmade concrete vessels with gilded paint mixed into the concrete. Each candle is hand-poured with all-natural soy wax.
Where are the candles made?
All our candles are made by hand and hand-poured in the Hudson Valley. Stone & Flame is woman-owned and woman-made.
Will my candle look exactly like the photograph?
Concrete candles share the pictured shape, with a gilded-paint design unique to each vessel. For Found Ceramics, you receive the exact individual vessel shown in the listing.
How long do the candles burn?
The Gem and Pillar burn for approximately 30–35 hours. The Pebble burns for approximately 35–40 hours, and the Boulder for over 50 hours. Burn time varies with use.
What is the found ceramic collection?
Found Ceramics are one-of-one candles in vessels sourced from thrift shops in the Hudson Valley, filled with hand-poured all-natural soy wax. Each listing represents one individual vessel.
